T-Mobile USA to cut more jobs

T-Mobile USA is cutting another 90o jobs this week ? just two months after slashing about 1,000 positions ? as it continues to try to right the ship. (The Verge posted T-Mo?s internal memo here.) The cost-cutting was previously announced and comes even as parent Deutsche Telekom is investing billions of dollars to bring T-Mo into the 4G era by building out an LTE network. T-Mo is the lone tier-one carrier that doesn?t offer LTE now that Sprint is bringing its high-speed network online, of course, but this is about much more than just lightning-fast connectivity: LTE would presumably enable T-Mo to finally carry the iPhone, which remains the best-selling smartphone in the U.S. And that would go a very long way toward making the fourth-largest U.S. carrier competitive again.
