Being on the receiving end of inspiration is so necessary, like little gifts of encouragement dropping down out of the sky at just the right time. It would be horrible to think that all we had to motivate ourselves was our own internal influence, inspired only by what we have been taught, only by what we?ve read, or seen on TV, or what we?have gotten?from others common take. I am talking about ?doing? and living" the culture.??From an authenticity meter, doing and living is what will get you the best perspective.
I tend to take others energy, both positive and negative, very seriously. And like most of us, my life is influenced by groups of people who share my interests, cultural groups; tribes of like minded people doing like minded things. Within these groups are those who find a connection to other groups, other tribes. I had a conversation with a student at Lindenwood University yesterday. Alex wanted to start a sustainability club and begin the process of educating students to become a little more eco-focused. I made the point that those living a sustainable lifestyle are not all that far from another tribe that I am familiar with; those who live an O-Sport lifestyle (recreation in natural resources; mountain biking, hiking, water sports). I recommended that he do the work, find the correlation between like minded folks, and they will take interest. We agreed that the groups were related and that education would be key. Three tribes, one conversation.
Since it is important to get a dose of inspiration on a regular basis, one of the things you can do is open your eyes; be a little more open minded in relationship to those having interests other than yours, but common interests elsewhere. Have you ever categorized your tribes? How many do you have? Are there more than a few? My guess is that you might be surprised as to how the relationships between tribes work--surprised as to who crosses over and why.
My personality requires me to have the influence from many tribes, many cultures, and I am pretty darned sure that others like me tend to be like me in other ways; information junkies, lifelong learners, wander luster?s, always seeking to get "it" or "get" something out of "it". This is how we learn. We are a tribe in our own bad selves. We are not at all concerned with political ramifications of embarking on a knowledge quest to understand culture.
We seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge and that keeps us interested, inspired. We get inspired by those having something that we feel we might want or need to learn about. If we feel so compelled we will embark on the things that the tribe has to offer in order to glean from it what the others have, the charter, and the purpose, the feeling of what?s inside. Once the waters warm and we have become comfortable navigating that which is at the core of the group, we absorb all of the benefits. It takes as long as it takes, ongoing if you like it a lot. Sacha Baron Cohen is a little more downplayed than usual (no green mankinis this time around), but quite memorable nevertheless as the tenacious station inspector Gustav. As can be said for Sir Ben Kingsley, who brings a lot of passion to his character, as the old toy-maker Georges M?li?s. Not to mention the brief, but excellent performances by Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Emily Mortimer and Jude Law. Sadly, not everything runs like clockwork though. While the film is enjoyable all the way, the progression of the plot sometimes drags and loses momentum, which is one of the reasons why I can't allow myself to give it a higher rating than I have. It also feels a tad outstretched and would have done good in leaving out some of the less essential scenes. Another thing I wasn't too excited about is the blue & orange color palettes. It's become a common trend in Hollywood these days to apply these sort of "mood-setting" touches, but personally I think it just serves to diminish the visual impact. An enchanting and painstakingly crafted piece of film-making nevertheless though, that if anything shows that Scorsese haven't lost any of his flairs for heartfelt story-telling. As the old saying goes, ?How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, Practice, Practice.? I made it a habit when I wrote articles, that as soon as I was through with one article I would start on another article.
I started seeing my article writing time drop off from days to a day and then to a couple of hours.
Soon I found I could turn out several articles in a day. So if you want to write articles, the best tip I have is to write one article after another, and soon you will be in the habit of being able to write effective articles in a short amount of time.
Outline
Another tip I have is to produce an outline. This gives you a general idea of what you are going to write about. Once you have produced an acceptable outline, the rest is easy, just fill in the blanks.
The outline should consist of an introduction, three or four subject lines and a conclusion.
The outline should be similar to what I have in this article.
Knowledge
Know your subject matter. Nothing can slow you down the most in writing articles, than not knowing the details on the product you want to promote. When you find something you want to write about, research the subject or product so that you thoroughly know your subject matter. Makes it a lot easier to produce a quality article in a short amount of time.
Conclusion
I have put these three tips in order of priority. For example, I knew a lot about my first subject but it still took me four days to put it together. So to learn the true form of article writing, practice till you can write an article in hours. Developing an outline and knowing your subject matter is also needed to be effective at article writing.

China leader-in-waiting Xi woos and warns U.S. (Reuters)
DES MOINES, Iowa (Reuters) ? China's leader-in-waiting Xi Jinping received a warm welcome in the U.S. heartland on Wednesday, moving from Washington and talks on contentious international issues to Iowa, where the Chinese vice president was hailed as an old friend and a boost for billions of dollars in agricultural trade.
Before leaving Washington, Xi offered deeper cooperation with the United States on trade and security, citing Iran and North Korea, but called on Washington to heed Beijing's demands on contentious "core interests" such as Tibet. Xi is almost sure to become China's next president in just over a year.
Xi joined Iowa Governor Terry Branstad for a state dinner attended by several hundred business and government leaders, and was feted with a meal including Iowa-raised pork tenderloin, Angus beef and a soybean and corn salad.
Iowa is America's largest producer of corn, soybeans and pork, and China's appetite for all three is growing rapidly. Branstad invited Xi to Iowa to tout the state's agricultural riches and reconnect Xi with Iowans he had met during an agricultural trade trip in the 1980s.
Xi laid out his views on ties with the United States in the keynote speech of his visit to Washington before heading to Iowa.
His message was dominated by reassuring vows of more balanced economic ties and more international cooperation. But he also stressed Beijing's impatience with U.S. policies on Taiwan and Tibet - issues on which many Chinese citizens expect their leaders to show they will stand up to foreign pressure.
"The world is currently undergoing profound changes, and China and the United States face shared challenges and shoulder shared responsibilities in international affairs," Xi said in a meeting in Washington with U.S. business executives, academics and policy-makers involved with China.
"We should further use bilateral and multilateral mechanisms to enhance coordination between China and the United States on hotspots, including developments on the Korean peninsula and the Iran nuclear issue," said Xi.
Xi will finish his U.S. trip with a visit Thursday to Los Angeles after finishing his stop to Iowa.
SOYBEAN SALES
Xi said on Wednesday he enjoyed his time in the Midwestern state, both in 1985 and this week. He described Americans as "honest, warm hearted, hard-working, friendly" and said there was a "tremendous reservoir of goodwill" between the Chinese and American people.
The value of American-Chinese agricultural trade ties was underscored when Chinese soybean buyers traveled to Des Moines to announce they would buy more than $4 billion in U.S. soybeans this year.
All told, the Chinese are expected to sign deals to buy a record amount of U.S. soybeans - some 12 million tons - this year, officials said. U.S. corn and pork sales are also on the rise to China.
"We are proud of our mutual beneficial trading partnerships with China and Iowa farmers are proud to harvest safe and reliable agricultural products for use by the people of China," said Branstad in a toast at the state dinner.
Branstad echoed comments of other U.S. and Chinese officials this week in saying that he hoped Xi's visit this week would foster and "even deeper friendship" that would benefit both countries.
Xi's visit to the United States this week has given him a chance to boost his international standing before his likely promotion to the head of China's ruling Communist Party later this year and president in early 2013.
His offer to work with Washington on solutions to conflicts with Iran and North Korea was welcomed as a possible balm to U.S. worries that Xi (pronounced like "shee") could take foreign policy in a more hawkish direction.
And the enthusiasm shown for U.S. farm goods, dear to the Asian economic giant as its rising middle class demands more and higher quality food, struck a promising chord with Americans. Several Chinese delegations shadowing Xi this week visited such U.S. agricultural giants as Archer Daniels Midland and Pioneer Hi-Bred International.
Still, friction remains. Xi this week stressed Beijing's impatience with U.S. policies on Taiwan and Tibet - where Beijing fears its claims could be undermined by Western pressure.
"History demonstrates that whenever each side handles relatively well the issues bearing on the other side's core and major interests, then Sino-U.S. relations are quite smooth and stable. But when it is the contrary, there are incessant troubles," he said.
Washington should "abide by the one-China policy and take concrete actions to oppose Taiwanese independence," he said.
'ACTING PRUDENTLY'
"We also hope that the United States will truly implement its recognition that Tibet is part of China and its vow to oppose Tibetan independence, acting prudently in issues concerning Tibet," he added.
Tensions over Chinese control of Tibet have flared in past months when a succession of protests and self-immolations have exposed volatile discontent. Chinese officials have blamed those tensions on separatists or supporters of the Dalai Lama, the exiled Buddhist leader of the region.
In early 2010, the Obama administration's decision to move forward with proposed arms sales to Taiwan triggered vehement criticism from Beijing, including warnings of sanctions against U.S. companies involved in the sales.
Xi acknowledged the Obama administration's recent strategic "pivot" towards Asia, which will see a more mobile U.S. military presence, but warned Washington not to push too far.
"China welcomes the United States playing a constructive role in promoting the peace, stability and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region, and at the same time we hope the U.S. side will truly respect the interests and concerns of countries in the region, including China," said Xi.
For his part, President Barack Obama this week took aim at China's trade policies, saying he will not stand by when American's competitors "don't play by the rules.
Members of Congress pressed Xi on China's detentions of human rights activists as well. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner's office said his staff delivered a letter on the case of Gao Zhisheng, a dissident and human rights lawyer imprisoned in China. The House speaker also expressed disappointment at China' veto of a U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria.
Many U.S. lawmakers also complain that China's yuan currency is significantly undervalued, giving Chinese companies an unfair price advantage that helped lift the U.S. trade deficit with China to a record $295.5 billion in 2011.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Geithner said on Wednesday that Beijing is letting its currency rise, but not quickly enough.
"LONG-TIME FRIEND"
Xi, 58, is poised to become China's next leader after a decade in which it has grown to become the world's second largest economy while the United States has fought two wars and endured the deepest recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
There were a few protesters outside the Iowa state capitol Wednesday, but Xi's arrival in Iowa was largely celebrated. An estimated 650 business and government leaders attended the dinner for Xi.
Calling Xi a "long-time friend," Branstad said his visit was a "historic opportunity."
"So many Iowans are pleased that a man we befriended those many years ago, has risen to such a position of prominence and respect in the great nation of China," said Branstad.
Xi spent Wednesday afternoon visiting the small town of Muscatine, Iowa, to reunite with townspeople he had met on a trade trip to the state in 1985 when Xi was a mid-level government official in the pig-farming region in Hebei.
On Thursday morning Xi will visit an Iowa soybean farm and help kick off a U.S.-China agricultural symposium hosted by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack in Des Moines.

ABOARD THE USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN ? Iranian patrol boats and aircraft shadowed a U.S. aircraft carrier strike group as it transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
The passage ended a Gulf mission that displayed Western naval power amid heightened tensions with Tehran, which has threatened to choke off vital oil shipping lanes.
But officers onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln said there were no incidents with Iranian forces and described the surveillance as routine measures by Tehran near the strategic strait, which is jointly controlled by Iran and Oman.
Although U.S. warships have passed through the strait for decades, the trip comes during an escalating showdown between Iran and the West over the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. The last time an American carrier left the Gulf ? the USS John C. Stennis in late December ? Iran's army chief warned the U.S. it should never return.
The Lincoln was the centerpiece of a flotilla that entered the Gulf last month along with British and French warships in a display of Western unity against Iranian threats. There was no immediate comment by Iran about the Lincoln's departure.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard has said it plans its own naval exercises near the strait, the route for a fifth of the world's oil supply. But Iran's military has made no attempts to disrupt oil tanker traffic ? which the U.S. and allies have said would bring a swift response.
Two American warships, one in front and one in the rear, escorted the Abraham Lincoln on its midday journey through the strait and into the Arabian Sea after nearly three weeks in the Gulf, which is frequently visited by U.S. warships and includes the headquarters of the U.S. 5th Fleet in Bahrain. The strait is only about 30 miles (50 kilometers) across at its narrowest point.

He predicted before the transit that the Iranians would likely keep a close eye on the Lincoln throughout its passage, including with ground-based radars. He wasn't surprised by the attention from Iranian forces.
"We would do the same things off the coast of the United States ... It's more than reasonable. We're operating in their backyard," he said. "We've been doing it for years."

Tensions grow over EU aviation emissions (Reuters)
SINGAPORE (Reuters) ? Global planemaker Airbus joined a chorus of concern that a European scheme to charge airlines for carbon emissions risks triggering a full-blown trade war, with implications for plane deals and even Europe's crippling sovereign debt crisis.
The EU's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), introduced on January 1, has drawn howls of protest from airlines around the world, with China banning its carriers from taking part.
The escalating row comes just ahead of a summit between Chinese and EU leaders in Beijing on Tuesday, with the EU looking to China to dip into its huge foreign exchange reserves to help the euro zone tackle a debt build-up that threatens its economic stability.
Airbus Chief Executive Tom Enders said he was increasingly concerned at the potential fall-out if tensions are not defused.
"I am very worried about the consequences of that. What started out as a solution for the environment has become a source of potential trade conflict and that should be a worry for all of us," he told an aviation conference ahead of the Singapore Airshow on Monday.
China is seen as a vital strategic market for the world's two big planemakers, as it coordinates purchases centrally and regularly places orders with Airbus and Boeing in batches of 100 or more to coincide with high-level political contacts.
Chinese domestic air traffic quadrupled between 2000 and 2010, and is expected to keep growing at more than 7 percent a year up to 2030, according to Airbus research, and Boeing predicts China will be the second-biggest market for new aircraft behind the United States between 2011 and 2030.
China last year delayed the final signing of a deal for 10 A380 superjumbos worth $4 billion for Hong Kong Airlines in a signal of its displeasure over the EU plans, and in the mid-1990s, it refused to buy French products such as wheat and Airbus planes in retaliation for France selling fighters and frigates to Taiwan.
Last week, Beijing banned its airlines from joining the ETS without its permission, and threatened to take unspecified measures to defend itself against the scheme, which levies charges for carbon emissions on flights in and out of Europe.
Foreign governments argue Brussels is exceeding its legal jurisdiction by calculating the carbon cost over the whole flight, not just Europe.
Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong said opposition to the scheme was based on the way it is being applied well beyond Europe.
"We object to the principle of how the ETS is applied, that it is applied to air space outside Europe," he said.
"I was quoting the example of us flying non-stop from Singapore all the way to Europe. We get charged the whole journey, when somebody who could fly passengers to an intermediate point, and from there go to Europe, ends up paying much less."
Europe's Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas acknowledged the growing opposition to the scheme, notably from China, the United States and India, and said he was willing to be flexible in finding a solution.
But the 27-nation bloc would not bow to pressure to suspend the scheme, which it says is part of a global fight against climate change. Aviation accounts for around 3 percent of mankind's greenhouse gas pollution.
"If you think Europe will be forced to suspend, this is not the case. We must have a real global solution," he said in an interview in Singapore.
"Europe will implement its system with difficulties, with conflicts, with court cases, whatever, the system will be introduced," he said.
French Transport Minister Thierry Mariani said both Airbus and Air France had expressed their concerns that the dispute should not be allowed to harm French competitiveness.
Some European airlines worry the scheme could backfire on them if foreign governments retaliate by limiting traffic rights or imposing tit-for-tat taxes and charges.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA), the airline industry's trade group, has called for the United Nations to get involved through its International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to avoid a trade war.
"Any policy that Europe has that alienates the U.S., China, Russia, India and 30-40 other countries is simply not going to work," said Andrew Herdman, director general of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines.
"The risk for the airlines if this generates into a tit-for-tat trade war, is that airlines will be caught in a cross-fire from both sides."
An analysis by Thomson Reuters Point Carbon last week shows airlines face a carbon pollution bill of 505 million euros ($670 million) for 2012 under the ETS.
A potential trade war comes as carriers and plane makers are vulnerable to the economic slowdown, with Boeing predicting global airline passenger growth will slow to 5 percent this year from around 6 percent last year.
"I think all eyes are on Europe in terms of what are they going to do with sovereign debt issues," said Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
DEFENCE DEALS
This week's Singapore Airshow is likely to see U.S. and European arms makers Boeing, Lockheed Martin Corp and EADS slugging it out for contracts as there is a growing appetite for military equipment in Asia, and beyond.
India plans to spend about $100 billion over the next decade to upgrade its largely Soviet-era military equipment, which would make it a lucrative market for Boeing and Dassault Aviation SA.
Dassault's Rafale is also set to become Brazil's fighter jet of choice, with government sources saying Brazil is "very likely" to choose the French plane to refurbish its air force.
If confirmed, the deals would enhance France's partnerships with two of the world's biggest up-and-coming economic powers, and provide a boost to President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has cast himself as a champion of French industry and an energetic salesman of the Rafale in particular as he faces a tough re-election fight this year.
European and U.S. defense companies, feeling the impact of budget cuts in their home markets, are also competing for jet contracts in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and South Korea.
